Microsynth

Summary

My first attempt at using microcontrollers for audio synthesis.
Both notes/velocity and controller change is done via MIDI.

Functionality

  • Two oscillators with independent volume and tune
  • Square, triangle and saw waveforms
  • ADSR envelope
  • Arpeggiator

Hardware

The hardware can be made extremely simple due to the microcontroller featuring a built in D/A-converter and DSP with enough power to do all audio processing.
  • Microchip dsPIC33FJ64GP802
  • OP-amp
  • 6N137 optocoupler
